This Privacy Policy explains how BurchX, LLC (“BurchX”, “we”, “us”), a Florida limited liability company, collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit burchx.com, contact us, use the BurchX Console, or receive BurchX Alerts text messages.
Information we collect
- Information you send us. When you contact us, we receive your name, your email address and anything else you choose to include in your message.
- Mobile phone numbers for alerts. When you add your own mobile number to the alert settings in the BurchX Console and agree to receive BurchX Alerts, we collect that number, a record of your consent, and information about the messages we send you, such as delivery status and your replies (for example STOP or HELP).
- Account information. If you use the BurchX Console, we keep the details needed to run your account, such as your name, email address and settings.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our servers automatically record standard request information: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, your browser and device type (user agent), and the response status.
burchx.com does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- reply to you and provide what you ask for;
- send the BurchX Alerts you agreed to receive, and act on STOP and HELP replies;
- operate, secure and troubleshoot our website and services, including preventing abuse;
- comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Use.
We do not use your mobile number for marketing. BurchX Alerts messages are about service incidents and deployments only.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only in these cases:
- Service providers. Twilio delivers our text messages and SendGrid, a Twilio company, delivers our email. They receive what they need to deliver each message, such as your phone number or email address and the message content.
- Legal reasons. When the law requires it, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order, or when it is needed to protect the rights, property or safety of BurchX, our users or others.
- With your permission. When you ask us to or agree that we may.
Mobile information and SMS consent. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. The categories of sharing above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent.
Text messages (BurchX Alerts)
BurchX Alerts sends text messages about service incidents and deployments to people who add their own mobile number to the alert settings in the BurchX Console and agree to receive them. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. You can also remove your number from your alert settings at any time. See the SMS Terms and the BurchX Alerts page for details.
How long we keep information
- Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record of our correspondence.
- Mobile numbers are kept while alerts are turned on. When you opt out or remove your number, we stop sending messages. We may keep a record of your consent and your opt-out for as long as needed to honor your choice and meet legal obligations.
- Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.
Otherwise, we keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or longer where the law requires it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information, and burchx.com is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Text messages. Reply STOP to any BurchX Alerts message, or remove your number from your alert settings in the BurchX Console.
- Access, correction and deletion. You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by writing to hello@burchx.com. We may need to verify your request, and we may keep information the law requires us to keep.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. Contact us to use them.
Children
Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
